    Seeks a Marketing & BD Manager to spearhead all BD plans for the Personal Injury, Medical Negligence and Industrial Disease teams.

    Today, HJA comprises around 243 employees including 96 lawyers and a further 50 fee earners practising in 14 distinct areas of law. There are 47 partners in the firm. Our offices are at North Gower Street, a 5-minute walk from Euston station.

    MAIN DUTIES

    You will report to the Heads of PI & Medical Negligence. Duties will vary in importance and priority, depending on circumstances and the needs of the business at any particular time, but will include the following key responsibilities:

    • Maximising fee earner expertise and external panel membership
    • Copywriting effective internal and external communications and brand messaging
    • Pipeline generation and relationship management (including high terminal case value, reasonable cost per acquisition and low attrition)
    • Developing and implementing strategic campaigns for the Personal Injury and Medical Negligence teams
    • Business planning: developing processes; identifying trends and growth opportunities
    • Referral management: managing relationships with partnered charities
    • Helping legal teams develop business, build relationships with existing and potential clients
    • Assisting to manage the firm's market profile to win new, profitable business
    • Working to deliver the PI & Medical Negligence Events Calendar
    • Collaborating with HJA's Marketing Department to enhance the firm's reputation and standing
    • Attending networking events which raise the profile and generate new business (including for the lawyers in PI & Medical Negligence with their clients and prospective clients)
    • Maximising the ROI from the firm's website (whilst ensuring that it constantly reflects HJA's brand, key messages, and latest updates)
    • Managing the digital distribution of newsletters, press releases and social media posts and other marketing content for their practice groups while working closely with the PR and communications team
    • Co-ordinating PI & Medical Negligence's Chambers and Legal 500 directories submissions
    • Demonstrating practical and innovative thought leadership on these issues

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

    • BD & Marketing experience ideally within legal or professional services in order to achieve the key responsibilities outlined above
    • Effective use of social media
    • Solid copywriting and communication skills
    • Planning cycles: Understanding HJA's PI & Medical Negligence departments; planning successful strategies; executing these plans; and debriefing following execution of plans.
    • Project and change management skills
    • Networking and persuasion skills
    • Critical thinking; Judgment-based decision-making; & analytical problem-solving skills
    • Time management and task prioritisation
    • Market data forecasting; data management and C-suite report preparation and presentation (including proficient IT/computer skills)
    • High degree of attention to detail

    Desirable:

    • BD and marketing experience within personal injury and or medical negligence.

    Remuneration will be competitive and will depend on the individual's circumstances.
