Business Systens Analyst Job Brief:


Working within the business systems team, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for the Company's Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting services, acquiring data from primary and secondary data sources, and maintaining databases.

The BusinessSystems Analyst will maintain, develop and create the analysis and reporting capabilities for the whole company. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.


Business Systems Analyst Job Duties:


  • Data Lifecycle Management
  • Retrieve and report data from several data sources and business areas. Create new metrics, dashboards and management information to spread a deep understanding of the drivers of performances
  • Work closely with leaders across all departments including Management, Product, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Finance to assess data and reporting needs
  • Support team members with data requirements to drive the direction of new business processes
  • Build and maintain dashboards with product and business insights with a rich set of drilldowns to ensure easy access to analytics
  • Visualise data using PowerBI as the primary reporting tool
  • Support commercial team members with analytical insights needed to drive highest ROI based activities
  • Build, iterate and improve analytical data models that facilitate access to analytical insights
  • Build and present BI reports on key business and commercial challenges and use data to streamline decision making processes
  • Help drive strategic decision making through detailed analysis, insights and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure data compliancy across geographical locations

Core Business Systems Analyst Competencies:


  • Excellent working knowledge of PowerBI and Excel
  • M, DAX, PowerQuery, PowerBI DataGateway, Paginated Reporting
  • Experience in working with APIs and integrating these into PowerBI or Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and a desire to drive quality on all projects
  • Experience working with large data sets, and literacy around schema diagrams and logical models
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyse information to discover trends and patterns
  • Combine models through ensemble modelling
  • Intermediate/strong proficiency in SQL
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including comfort presenting findings at a leadership level

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working in data analytics and visualisation
  • Familiarity of putting together reports for senior management
  • Proven evidence of delivering simple but informative PowerBI dashboards
  • Ability to interpret data and download to the business in simple terms
  • Has been involved in the creation of data lakes or similar would be preferable
  • Good experience of Microsoft Office36

  • BSc in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics desirable
