    Job summary

    The Post holder will be a clinical expert in the management and treatment of fractures and orthopaedic injuries

    To ensure the smooth running of the Trauma ward encompassing a safe patients journey from admission to discharge .

    Newton 3 is a 29 bedded acute trauma ward admitting from surgical assessment unit and the emergency department. We also have admissions from other acute NHS Trusts. We work closely with our elective sister ward and will soon be locating to the brand new hospital.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide the ward with a professional focus for leadership and clinical excellence andwill take responsibility for the assessment of training and development needs for the staff especially within the orthopaedic setting.

    To take responsibility for the ongoing development needs of the service and patients; upholding clinical standards and enabling staff to deliver high standards of care; to act as a role model at all times.

    To ensure the smooth running of the Trauma ward encompassing a safe patients journey from admission to discharge .

    The role would entail , budgetary responsibilities, safe working roster and environment for staff, whilst being a visible presence on the ward to ensure professionalism.

  • Degree level qualification in health related subject
  • Teaching and Assessing qualifications
  • Desirable

  • Counselling Skills Certificate qualification
  • Masters degree or working towards
