Description
To provide a first class clinical service in diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine. To supervise junior medical staff in Nuclear Medicine. To provide PET/CT expertise for supervision of administration, advice for imaging and reporting. To report radionuclide imaging studies, in vivo and in vitro and BMD studies.


To take part in the regular outpatient clinics assessing, treating and reviewing patients with Thyroid Cancer, Thyrotoxicosis and Neuroendocrine Tumours.

To prepare for and lead on discussions in appropriate MDTMs. Teaching, Junior Staff Post graduate lectures to FRCR and University students of Physics and Science. Undergraduate medical and dental students as part of their curriculum.

There are trainees attached to the Nuclear Medicine Department on a rotational basis.

All trainees are part of the Merger of Liverpool and Manchester Radiology Schools now known as Health Education England North West (HEENW).
