Our goal is to Bring high quality food and beverages to the climbers of The Reach Climbing Wall, local businesses and foot traffic from the Thames Pathway.

Job Title:
Cafe Team Member


Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cafe Staff Member at Crags Snacks, (The Crag Snacks & Coffee Company Ltd), located inside The Reach Climbing Wall in Woolwich.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing a mixture of pre-prepared and made-to-order food and drinks, maintaining a clean and organized cafe environment, and working collaboratively with team members.

The cafe serves climbers and local businesses, and is a separate business from The Reach Climbing Wall.

The role includes full and part-time positions, and the company is focused on the development of its staff within the catering and climbing industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Take and prepare food and drink orders, following standard recipes and procedures
  • Ensure the cafe environment is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times
  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned, including setting up and breaking down equipment, cleaning and restocking supplies, and securing the premises
  • Operate POS till system and handle financial transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer experience
  • Address customer concerns and complaints with a positive attitude and effective communication
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and promotions to answer customer questions and make recommendations
  • Participate in training and development opportunities as provided by the company

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide great customer service
  • Dedication to the highest standards of food hygiene and quality of food preparation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Flexible schedule to work weekends and evenings as needed
  • Interest in climbing or other outdoor activities is a plus

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 6-12 per week


Salary:
£10.42 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Food preparation: 1 year (preferred)
