    Weekend Housekeeping Assistant

    Monday to Friday Morning to (30 hours per week)

    The successful post holder(s) will provide a cleaning and catering service to our Service Users, Staff and Visitors across our Wards and Departments.

    You will be working as part of an established Team who provide a full Hotel Services function across the Hospital.

    Main duties of the job

    Cleaning - Cleaning all areas of the Hospital, including bedrooms with en-suite facilities, bathrooms, day rooms, lounges, corridors, offices and other areas of the Ward.

    Catering - The preparation and service of breakfast items, the handling, reheating, and service of cook-freeze meals. Making light snacks including salads, sandwiches and beverages. Washing up and associated cleaning within the Ward kitchen and dining room.

    Other duties - Handling and disposal of waste, periodic cleaning, such as carpet shampooing and curtain changing.

    HOUSEKEEPING1. Cleaning in all areas to the agreed NHS specification (including but notlimited to National Standards of Cleanliness, CQC outcomes andPLACE, and in line with local Completion of cleaning Highlighting to the Nurse in Charge or Hotel Service Supervisor areasof concern on-going issues around Adhering to all aspects of Infection Control to ensure the potential forspread of infection is Working in accordance with the National Colour Coding Carrying out termination cleans in line with Trust Carrying out isolation cleaning in line with Trust Completing and documenting a scheduled deep cleaning programmefor the specified Collection and storage of waste from locations according to theHospital waste disposal Complete other cleaning duties as required. This will include itemssuch as wheelchairs, commodes, trolleys, furniture/fittings, internalglass and wall all sightings of pests to the Hotel Services Change soiled screen, cubicle and window curtains as required underthe direction of the Hotel Services Receive and store clean laundry/linen. Remove full soiled linen bagsto the collection point. Replace linen bags as of a range of cleaning equipment including floor cleaningequipment, steam cleaners etc ensuring their safe and effective use15.Assessing condition of equipment and reporting defects.CATERING1. Receipt of chilled meals and stores, checking for quantity, To ensure the correct storage and rotation of chilled meals and Regeneration of chilled/frozen meals, according to guidelines and foodsafety instructions. Under Nursing supervision to serve all meals,ensuring correct portioning and presentation of Monitoring, recording of food temperatures, Washing by machine all crockery, cutlery and utensils.GENERAL1. Ensuring the security of all stock, monitoring stock levels and reordering on a top up Reporting maintenance faults to the Hotel Services Office inaccordance with local Undertaking flushing of water outlets in accordance with the agreedschedule. Completion of flushing Assisting with the refitting of anti ligature dispenser holders Maintain high standards of personal Ensure all information appertaining to Patients and staff is Any other duties within the hotel services functions as may reasonablybe requested and as appropriate to band.
