    The CNIF programme aims to give nurses and midwives, the opportunity to develop the key skills required to undertake relevant and impactful improvement programmes in the Trust now and in the future and undertake a personal development programme.

    If you are interested in undertaking a CNIF, support and direction will be provided through regular one-to-one meetings, and through participation in action learning sets with the Chief Nurse Research Interns as well as undertaking other development opportunities.

    The Chief Nurse Improvement Fellowship is designed to bring the following benefits:

  • Main duties of the job

    This is an exciting programme of work that will also support national changes to Nursing Documentation as being driven by the CNIO for England and the Chief Nurse for England.

    The fellow will lead the review of the current documentation and clinical practice, engaging with other professionals to understand challenges and concerns. They will work with the digital team to redesign documentation processes in Epic, the education team to ensure changes are implemented into clinical practice and the Exemplar team to ensure changes are reflected in the Exemplar Accreditation programme. Nursing documentation is used by others to support clinical care and the fellow will ensure that the MDT view is also taken into consideration for any Epic /clinical practice changes.
    The fellow will support the management of project plans, risks and coordination of focus groups, training and support will be available as part of the fellowship.
    The objectives of the programme are:

    • Nursing Documentation meets standards laid out by the Trust and other governing bodies

    • Nursing Documentation supports the presentation of metrics for Exemplar Accreditation

    • Nursing documentation burden is decreased
