    The Role

    As a Depot Assistant, you will provide administration assistance of live staff schedules, to ensure operational deployment is maintained for the Freight, Passenger and Train Crew staff. Additionally, providing administration support to our Operational Leaders and staff in the operation offices. You will provide a visible link between the Staff Planning Office and our operational staff.

    Principal Accountabilities, Qualifications and Experience

  • Close liaison and communication with the Day-to-Day Planner of the relevant area, for the administration of live staff rosters.
  • Administration of Roster modifications, covering sickness, late leave applications, overtime, and shift swaps, in line with the roster rules.
  • Updating and maintaining the Operating Temporary Instructions (OTI) documentation board for Train Crew, and ensuring copies are readily available for staff.
  • Administration of Time Management System (TMS) data for the CSRO operational staff, by performing transfers between Agile time and TMS. Inputting data manually and carrying out extensive checks to ensure data input is correct.
  • Ensuring roster rules, and the Fatigue and Risk Index process is followed, and minimum rest periods are maintained, when covering overtime and shift swaps between staff on published rosters.
  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an administration function, is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Working Time Regulations 1998.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, ., Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to communicate in French and/or another European language, would be an advantage.
  • To work a roster, which covers a 24-hour basis, 7 days a week.
  • A valid Driving Licence and Passport is essential.
