- To contribute to the planning of a programme of activities in the area where you are based.
- Work alongside parents to give full integration in the nursery in line with the child's needs.
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
- To support volunteers in the setting and encourage their professional development.
- Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
- To be flexible within the working practices of nursery, to include undertaking certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleaning of equipment, etc.
- Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the Pomfret Woodland Community Nursery is fulfilled.
- Look upon the nursery as a 'whole', be constantly aware of the needs of all children.
- To develop reflective practice and be open to personal and professional development.
- To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development.
- To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing and meet the needs of individual children.
- To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times.
- Level 2 or 3 in a recognised childcare field, that is deemed relevant by the DFE and Ofsted
- GSCE in English and Maths or equivalent
- Basic food hygiene
- Paediatric first aid
- Level 1 safeguarding
