    JOB TITLE: EXAM INVIGILATOR

    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Exam Invigilator to oversee and maintain order during academic examinations. The ideal candidate will ensure that all exams are conducted fairly and in accordance with established guidelines and regulations. The Exam Invigilator will play a crucial role in upholding the integrity of the examination process and creating a conducive environment for students to perform their best.

    Responsibilities:

    • Preparation and setup: assist in the preparation and arrangement of exam venues, including the distribution of examination papers, stationery, and other materials as necessary.
    • Adherence to procedures: ensure strict adherence to examination procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining confidentiality and integrity throughout the examination process.
    • Supervision and monitoring: supervise students during exams, ensuring that they adhere to the rules and regulations, maintain silence, and refrain from any form of academic dishonesty.
    • Assistance to students: provide assistance and clarification to students when necessary, addressing any procedural queries and ensuring a smooth examination experience.
    • Conflict resolution: handle any disturbances or irregularities that may arise during the examination, following established protocols and maintaining professionalism at all times.
    • Timekeeping: monitor and manage the time allocated for each section of the examination, alerting students to the remaining time and ensuring a fair distribution of time across all sections.
    • Collection of examination materials: collect completed examination scripts and other materials from students, ensuring accuracy and completeness before submission.
    • Reporting: report any incidents, irregularities, or breaches of examination regulations to the appropriate authorities promptly and accurately.
    • Feedback and improvement: provide feedback on the examination process and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency, security, and fairness.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; higher education preferred.
    • Previous experience in exam invigilation or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
    • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students and staff.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus for extended periods.

    • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and handle conflicts or emergencies effectively.
    • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the examination schedule.

    Working Conditions:

    The role of an Exam Invigilator involves working in a controlled examination environment, often under strict time constraints and with minimal breaks. Candidates may be required to stand or walk for extended periods and maintain vigilance throughout the examination duration. The position may also involve working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the examination schedule.

    Location:

    Candidates will be required to work at one of our 5 campuses spread across London, including Holborn, Central London, Wembley, Kingsbury, and Southall. Preference will be given to candidates who are flexible and can work at various campuses rather than just one. Invigilators may need to travel between campuses as needed, so access to transportation or willingness to commute is essential.

    Type of Contract: zero-hours contract

    Pay Rate: £13.15 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
