    NES Fircroft is recruiting a Shutdown Mechanical Project Engineer on behalf of ConocoPhillips based at their terminal, Seal Sands in Teesside.

    This is a long-term contract opportunity.

    The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage, and trans-shipment installation.

    Projects Management
    Responsible for the development and on-time execution of a portfolio of multi-discipline projects (predominantly mechanically biased) executed within unit shutdown outage windows
    Responsible for the development and execution of projects, from definition through to front-end engineering, HAZOP, Detailed Design, Construction & Commissioning
    Provide overall Project Management and liaise as necessary with those affected by the project as require
    Project managing and controlling any modifications / changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislatio
    Responsible for Project Cost Control, schedule attainment, forecasting and ensuring that the work scope is effectively and efficiently delivered
    Carry out audits and readiness reviews to ensure projects are in compliance with the project delivery process and are aligned with key delivery milestones
    Proactive management of stakeholders chairing project meetings and other key forums.
    Support the preparation of tenders and participate in bid analysis for key packages of work
    Drive continuous improvement & development of the shutdown delivery models to become best in class
    Contribute to risks reviews and risk assessments
    Attend FAT's and provide quality assurance for construction activities
    Strong project engineering and technical background in mechanical discipline
    Degree educated in relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably chartered status)
    Demonstrable understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Electrical, Piping, Static Vessels, Civil, Asset Integrity and Rotating
    Demonstrable experience of managing and safely delivering small to medium scale multi-disciplined projects
    Knowledge &/or experience of shutdowns or unit overhauls would be beneficial
    Extensive Engineering & Maintenance experience Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industry
    Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs etc
    Flexible and adaptable, demonstrating a positive "can do" approach to work
    Ability to use Microsoft packages
