Description
Main responsibilities
- Communicate effectively on freight logistics movements with internal and external customers and freight partners.
- Create packing lists/commercial invoices and/or collection manifests for shipments.
- Obtain quotes and make recommendation for suitable vendor and shipping method, where appropriate.
- Arrange timely collection and delivery of local, national, and international shipment movements based on client or work scope priorities.
- Providing import clearance instructions to freight logistics providers for all UK Imports.
- Knowledge of UK Import and Export Customs Regimes.
- Maintain communication with warehouse staff to ensure availability of shipments requested for collection.
- Review and track shipments and ensure all relevant parties are notified of shipments status updates in timely manner.
- Issue prealerts for export shipments.
- Assist and guide business with freight logistics enquiries.
- Maintain and update freight logistics registers and files.
- Review export and import customs entries for accuracy and compliance, liaising with freight providers and customs for any amendments if required.
- Review accuracy of all Airwaybills, Bill of Laden for shipments.
- Ensure all necessary purchase requisitions are completed and purchase orders issued to freight logistics providers in a timely.
- Identify savings opportunities and implement savings initiatives with guidance from Global Logistics Activities Manager.
- Carry out other administrative tasks to support the freight logistics process of the business as instructed by the Global Logistics Activities Manager.
- Support Global Logistics Activities Manager in the creation and update of all freight logistics forms, processes and work instructions.
- Support business teams on all aspects relating to the exporting and importing of goods, along with supporting domestic courier and road movements to meet client and business demands.
