    Description


    Due to an increased growth in project pipeline, you have an opportunity to join a prominent, global energy company as Authorised Person.

    You will be a key part of the commissioning team Working in partnership with the SAP / Commissioning Manager for a new gas power project in the UK, until successful handover to the customer.

    Being responsible for the safety aspects and the safe energy isolation throughout the commissioning phase.


    Roles and responsibilities include:

    • Management of plant mechanical and electrical systems along with in-depth understanding and interpretation of P&IDs and other pertinent drawings
    • Following safety and environmental rules and regulations
    • Implementing project safe work practices and immediately identifiying hazards and recommending and implementing repairs
    • Understanding and executing the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorisation / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits
    • Verifying and approving LOTO permits, as directed by the project PTW system
    • Ensuring all protective measures identified on the permit are implemented prior to authorized start of the work.
    • Issuing tags and locks for personnel
    • Maintain control of locks and permits (open and closed) with log and report daily.
    • Ensuring locks and tags are placed and removed from designated equipment and systems.
    • Ensuring the equipment or system is in safe configuration after work is completed.
    • Report to the Lead Process Mechanical / Electrical Engineers, the Commissioning Manager, and the Head of Commissioning where necessary
    This is an integral part of a new project team, with further work available in a burgeoning market


    Key competencies include:

    • At least 3-5 years working experience in EHS and lock-out/tag-out processes of large power stations with demonstrable experience in a role of similar relevance.
    • HND/HNC in Mechanical/Process/Electrical engineering (preferable)
    • Strong relationship building skills, working with an international team and other cultures.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Critical thinking and a solutions-led approach
    • Fluent spoken and written English
