Who is our client?

Our client is a global consultancy operating in the public sector, who have more recently opened a department specialising in digital customer experience.

Through navigating their clients through large-scale, technology-driven transformation programmes,our client drives outstanding delivery from their team of expert engineers.

Within this department, there are several disciplines; delivery, business, integration, and digital architects/technical managers; many team members can perform multiple role, as assigned through seniority that will be assigned upon joining the company.

What will you be doing in this position?

The main purpose of this Platform Engineer position is to focus on delivering highly available, scalable enterprise solutions on IAAS/PAAS platforms, as part of dedicated or cross-function teams to engineer modern solutions based on business goals with varyinglevels of a DevOps maturity.

As such, the following can be expected:

Working with clients on their journey into digital transformation
IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solution implementations following best practises
Implementing and maintaining platforms and services based on requirements, constraints, and strategies
Contributing towards the business units strategy through personal growth, and coaching/mentoring of Junior colleagues

What skills/experience is our client seeking?

Our client is looking for Engineers with a mixture of skills and experience in tools and tech aligned within their space.

As such, the following experience will make you ideal for this position:

Cloud providers in a production environment (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud)
Continuous Integration Systems (Jenkins, Concourse, Drone & Bamboo, and/or GitHub Actions)
Configuration Management Tooling (Ansible/Puppet/Chef/Salt)
Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes/Swarm/OpenShift)
Monitoring and Alerting Tooling (OpsView, Nagios, ELK, Graphite, Grafana)
Experience debugging a complex, multiserver service in a high availability environment
