    The School of Biological and Marine Science, Faculty of Science and Engineering, is looking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated lecturer in biology to assist with a range of teaching and assessment activities in our Foundation Year Programmes.

    We are looking for a biologist with experience in teaching at college (FE) or foundation year (HE) level. This is an exciting chance to be part of a progressive and cutting-edge University in a beautiful location, where you can really make a difference. The role will include tutorials, field work exercises, practical classes, project supervision, as well as lecture delivery and coursework marking.

As a member of our academic community, you'll be expected to contribute to our recognised research strengths.     You will have a PhD in Biology (or a related field), with expertise in pedagogy, and experience of teaching at undergraduate level. You will also have a track record of successful research. Every member of staff at University of Plymouth contributes to delivering the University's mission to advance knowledge and transform lives through education and research. As a lecturer at University of Plymouth, you will be expected to support outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, scholarship and knowledge transfer and provide academic support to students, within a clear and established programme and under a system of academic supervision/support.

    A current full driving licence (manual transmission) is essential as you will be driving University of Plymouth vehicles. This role is also subject to health surveillance with our Occupational Health team.

    The successful candidate may be required to obtain an ATAS Certificate prior to this research being undertaken.

    This is a full-time position working 37 hours a week on a permanent basis.

    £38,205 to £54,395 per annum - Grade 7/8
