The Department has also developed distinctive teaching modules for our own degree programmes, as well as for scientists and engineers across the University, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The Department is committed to Athena SWAN principles, as recognised by a Bronze Award.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics.

The postholder will play a key role in delivering the Department's strategic direction, and will support our contribution to the next REF, as well as the University's vision for 2030.

You will actively contribute to research activities and collaborations both within the University and with our external partners.

You will play a key role in growing our MMath and postgraduate programmes in mathematics, and you will contribute to UG and PGT teaching, assessment and project supervision.

To be considered for the role, applicants should have a special research interest in one of these three areas: Applied Analysis, Mathematical Modelling or Numerical Analysis, and interdisciplinary research, as well as a secondary interest in Data Science.

Data Science is interpreted in the broad sense and interdisciplinarity should be in either Data Science or a Strathclyde 2030 research theme.

Formal interviews for this post will be held in July 2024.
