Part Time 0.8 FTE (28 Hours per Week), Annualised Over 12 Months


Applications are invited from suitably qualified colleagues for a part-time post as
Teaching Fellow in German Studies in the Department of European Languages and Cultures.

This role is intended to cover aspects of teaching and administration during the secondment of colleagues to other roles.

This position is a part-time (28 hours per week) and fixed-term post available for one year from 01/09/2023. For the months of July and August, working hours will be zero. Annual leave will normally be taken during the months you are scheduled to work. Salary is calculated on an annualised basis and paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Degree in a relevant area.
  • Experience and demonstrable success in delivering effective university teaching in German language.
  • Fluency and excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English.
  • Evidence of selfmotivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Potential to design and lead supervisory activities for undergraduate students.
