Part-time Catering/Shop Assistant working 25 hours spread over 5 days, including alternating weekends.


The selected individual will be responsible for assisting in the hospital shop and coffee bar situated within the outpatients department.

Duties include serving barista style coffee, hot snacks, sandwiches, salads, and cakes.

In addition, there may be instances where they will be required to serve at the service counter of the Staff Restaurant.

The individual will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the area and upholding rigorous food safety standards.

The responsibilities encompass receiving and organizing deliveries, stocking shelves, assisting customers, and ensuring the shop remains clean and organized. The primary objective is to provide customers with the best possible experience.

  • Providing friendly and attentive customer service while maximising sales
  • Managing cash and credit card transactions
  • Ensuring shelves are consistently stocked and wellorganised
  • Maintaining proper stock control and implementing rotation procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records of HACCP temperatures and stock inventory
  • Crafting and serving barista style coffees
  • Preparing and serving hot snacks
  • Ensuring the shop and café are always clean and presentable
  • Assisting in the main staff restaurant as needed
  • Consistently upholding a high standard of customer service, treating all customers with dignity and respect
