Description

The purpose of the job is to monitor, audit and report the facilities services' standards across our sites at Kings College Hospital.

This will involve carrying out multiple audits across a number of Hotel Services as required.


The post holder is expected to oversee and attend most of the cleaning audits, as per the standards and requirements described in the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness (NSoHC), within their area of responsibility.

To achieve this, the post holder will be required to ensure that all audits take place per the NSoHC frequencies, which include in-patient wards, Opd's and offices.

The post holder will ensure all aspects of the standards are kept up-to-date, such as updating the star ratings.


The post holder will also need to write a monthly assurance report for Facilities Manager - Hotel Services, as part of the Trust's assurance towards NHS standards and requirements.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the action plans, issued by the Service providers, following each audit and reporting completion/assurance to the relevance governance meetings alongside any trends.

To ensure all areas for monitoring are carried out within the timescale required

To liaise with Site Leads, Domestic Leads and Estates Leads to ensure that all failures are rectified.


To manage all actions following the audits by overseeing the contractors action plans and managing all outstanding, and escalating any issues through the correct escalation process.


To contribute to the continual improvement of audit elements where services can be improved to best support the Services and clinical teams.

To submit a monthly assurance report for inclusion and discussion at the Facilities Committee.

To advise the Line Manager of any areas of concerns, such a repeated failures.

To identify any trends in non-conformances to escalate areas of concern requiring additional support and include in reporting.

To provide assurance of accurate cleanliness standards across the Trust through high-quality reporting and auditing

To manage and plan diary to audit all areas alongside Service providers representatives, within deadlines

To keep the star rating posters etc. up-to-date at each site/ward.

To ensure any changes are updated on the auditing tools.

To support the rollout of the new electronic auditing system.

To carry out additional types of audits and reporting within the department as required, such as Portering and Linen.
