The operations team is a core part of the Auction business, made up of various functions Yard team, Inspections, VCP and Imaging.

Team members across all functions are responsible for ensuring all processes within their department run efficiently, and support the smooth operation of the day-to-day function.

Ensuring sales are delivered successfully and operational and customer service excellence is met at all times.


Scope of the Role:

Responsible for the day to day direction of the entry control team, being the first point of contact for queries and ensuring that all entry control are co-ordinated in an effective and efficient manner, including ensuring all vehicles arrive and leave securely and accurately


Objectives of the Role:


  • To ensure the smooth daytoday operation of the department, and to deal with any problems or incidents in a timely manner and within the required procedure guidelines escalating any issues to your line manager
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent levels of transporter deliveries by the organising and enforcing of a booking in procedure
  • Control the transporter loading & unloading areas to ensure clear routes for vehicles entering & leaving site
  • Responsible for overseeing that only authorised vehicles enter & leave site
  • Onsite vehicles using a hand held device, scan bar code and ensure all vehicles are checked against the proof of delivery with the VRN, make, model, colour and any damage entered on the proof of delivery
  • To move vehicles around the premises as required
  • Provide information to the management team on a daily basis or as required, to ensure that effective planning can take place
  • To be the first point of contact for the entry control team and provide effective communication and support people management tasks i.e. Performance Reviews, Return to Work and Investigations
  • To ensure the team are working to a high standard whilst maintaining safety levels and customer service standard

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

To ensure security procedures are adhered to at all times

  • Ensure all Entry Control duties are carried out in line with HSE requirements
  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Experience with the use of IT packages
  • A working knowledge of health and safety
  • Previous experience within a customer facing transport environment
  • Ability to support and motivate a team
