    Job summary

    We are currently looking for an experienced Dental Therapist to support the delivery of community outreach programmes including fluoride application and tooth brushing schemes across a wide variety of community settings, ensuring the focus remains firmly on quality and safety.

    You will act as an ambassador for the Service, promoting the highest standards of excellence in working practices. You will support the Oral Heath Team to ensure outreach programmes are delivered to the highest standard and play an active role in the stakeholder engagement programmes to promote uptake of the schemes. You will employ a cohesive team approach, developing and strengthening partnership working both internally and externally

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will need to be able to work in a very busy environment whilst remaining calm and be able to deliver the outreach programmes effectively through challenging situations, so the ability to work independently, proactively and under pressure is important. A positive attitude, excellent clinical skills and a commitment to best practice in clinical care and continued professional development is essential. You will be required to travel around London to reach the communities we serve.

  • Diploma in Dental Therapy
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • GDC Registered Dental Therapist with post qualification in extended skills to allow the administration of inferior dental blocks
  • Experience

    Essential

  • A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
  • Desirable

  • Experience working in a community dental service setting
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - ability to use tact, diplomacy and empathy
  • Desirable

  • Experience of using the SOEL Health dental application or similar dental application
  • Knowlwedge

    Essential

  • Knowledge of Delivering Better Oral Health, The Toolkit, 3rd edition, to enable giving advice and application of evidence informed actions as part of consistent messages provided by the dental team

  • Maintain clinical registration and CPD to develop own capabilities and create culture of shared learning
