Client:


Our client are a highly experienced manufacturer who boast over 50 years experience in the design, manufacture, test, install, commissioning and maintenance of high-voltage sub-station protection and control equipment.


Job Summary:


The Mechanical Engineer role is critical to the smooth delivery of projects and you may be required to engineer several projects at the same time, or one large project.

The ability to liaise technically and commercially with colleagues, customers and suppliersis essential.


Role:


  • Interpret customer's technical drawings and requirements.
  • Produce manufacturing panel arrangements/fabrication drawings.
  • Produce BOMs to enable procurement of all mechanical items.
  • Produce and issue any drawings deemed necessary to allow review, approval and/or production of the required system design.

Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate with Application and other Mechanical/Electrical Engineers.
  • Work within any procedures, guidelines or specifications set by Acrastyle, the customer, any relevant electricity supply industry, and/or any relevant international organisational/standards.
  • Participating in the tender to project team handover meetings, where appropriate.
  • Participating in both internal and external meetings, such as project kickoffs and project reviews.
  • Conduct site surveys (where appropriate) at Customer sites respecting all relevant Health and Safety rules.
  • Help in maintaining or improving the project budget by use of "standard" parts and designs to minimise material and labour cost.
  • Work within any procedures, guidelines or specifications set by Acrastyle, the customer, any relevant electricity supply industry, and / or any relevant international organisation/standards to produce and issue any drawings deemed necessary to allow reviewby the client and subsequent comment/approval of the required system design.

Relevant Skills:


  • Experience in using CAD
  • At least two years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Efficient time management
  • Good attention to detail
  • IT literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility
  • A good team player

Desirable Experience:


  • Experience with preparation of 3D CAD drawings
  • Experience in a commercial environment
  • Experience working in Electrical protection sector
