- Leading and managing the school's SEND policy and provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.
- Identifying and assessing the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and developing and implementing personalized support plans.
- Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to provide targeted support and interventions for students with SEND.
- Providing guidance and support to staff members on effective strategies for supporting students with SEND in the classroom.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEND provision and making recommendations for improvement.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) qualification.
- Substantial experience working as a SENCO or in a similar role within a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- A passion for supporting the academic and personal development of students with SEND.
