    Our School

    This popular and oversubscribed school is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and experienced Science Teacher to act as Second in Charge (2ic) of a passionate and diverse department. The role would suit an experienced Science Teacher looking for the next step in their career or someone with prior middle leadership experience. They are looking for someone who has a passion for teaching science, who will be an effective member of the Science leadership team making a positive contribution to the day to day running of the Science department.

    The role

    As a Second in Charge, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our exceptional students. We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who possesses a genuine passion for working with young people with diverse needs. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of inclusive teaching practices and be skilled in tailoring instructional strategies to suit individual learning styles.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the wider school community, including parents, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
    • Adapt curriculum materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning abilities and styles.
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
    • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and implementing individualized interventions where necessary.
    • Work closely with external professionals to access additional support and resources for students with special needs

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
    • Proven experience working with students with diverse needs, preferably in a secondary school setting.
    • Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum and experience in adapting it to meet individual learning requirements.
