    Job summary

    An opportunity has arisen within the Adult Services Finance and Client Affairs team and we are looking to recruit a Finance Support Officer to deal with charging for care.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who would like to join us.

    This opportunity has arisen at an exciting time of development for the team and offers an ideal opportunity to contribute towards and be a part of its evolution.

    You should ideally have experience of working in a busy office environment and will possess excellent communication and organisational skills. We are looking to appoint someone who has a real commitment to excellent service delivery - you must be able to apply tact and diplomacy at all times. You must also be capable of working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring consistency and be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy when dealing with figures. You must be someone who is able to prioritise their workloads and be able work on your own initiative as well as under supervision.

    **The post will not start before 1st April 2024**

    Main duties of the job

    You will possess a positive, enthusiastic and energetic approach to work along with an acceptance of working flexibly and being open to and contributing to change. You will report to the Senior Finance Officer and provide support to colleagues within your immediate team and the wider organisation and will be required to undertake work around Charging for care and Financial reassessments.

    You will work as part of a team to provide charges for home, residential and nursing care within Adult Social Services and your work will include:

  • Calculation of charges for service users in residential placementsn, nursing and home care
  • Process charges for home care following financial assessment
  • Setup payment methods to recover charges, either by standing order or invoice
  • Finalise cases on death, discharge or upon termination of care
  • Carry out annual reassessment of care charges
  • Provide advice and deal with any queries regarding financial assessments
  • Resolve queries and deal with complaints in respect of care charges
  • You will work hours each week from Monday to Friday, some working from home arrangements are currently in place however, you will be required to attend the office and may be asked to return on a more regular basis in future.

    The Trust operates a flexible working policy and the teams core business hours are from 08:30 to 16:30.
