HGV 1 Container Drivers Needed – Adhoc or Monday to Friday – PAYE or PAYE Umbrella

About the Job: Join our team as an HGV 1 Container Driver in Coventry. Take on the role of delivering or collecting containers, with most runs to Felixstowe docks. If you have container experience and hold a valid CE driver's license (HGV Class 1), this opportunity might be a great fit for you.

Location: Coventry

Job Type:

• Full Time – Monday to Friday or adhoc basis – no weekends.

Pay Rate:

• PAYE: £15.50 per hour
• PAYE with holiday rolled up: £17.37 per hour
• UMBRELLA: £18.00

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday, Days
• PM 16:00 - 17:00 start time
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week for Monday to Friday drivers

Dress Code:

• All black or navy blue clothing – smart clean appearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate a truck to transport goods to designated locations, mainly Felixstowe
• Safely handle loading and offloading of containers, including using trailers
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
• Communicate with dispatch for delivery instructions and updates on routes
• Provide exceptional customer service when dealing with clients during deliveries

Qualifications:

• Container experience is a must
• Experience with Skeletal trailers and trailers with sliding bogie and twist locks
• Valid CE driver's license (HGV Class 1)
• Minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents
• Ability to drive various truck types
• Experience with both Manual and Automatic vehicles
• Deep knowledge of traffic laws and regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum 12 months of container work experience
• Class 1 Driving License (mandatory)
• Driver CPC and DIGI card (mandatory)
• Felixstowe rhides port card required – can be obtained through an online test if expired or not available
• DCPC certification copy needed to apply
