Under the clinical / professional supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the post holder will beexpected to:? Use technical / creative skills to assist in the provision of a flexible, client centred programmeof recreational and therapeutic activities for individuals / groups of patients who all havecomplex psychosis or other mental health presentations and associated behaviour, which caninclude aggression.? To offer group and individual activities under the direct and indirect supervision of a qualifiedOccupational Therapist.? About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Activity Coordinator who will be responsible for offering a range of therapeutic activities to patients in hospital experiencing an acute mental health condition.
The benefits of being engaged in therapeutic activity are widely recognised in the ward environment. The role of the activity coordinator is key in ensuring this is done thoughtfully, creatively and safely within the ward environment.
About the team:
Supported by the ward Occupational Therapist and the Multi Disciplinary Team including nurses, doctors and physical wellbeing practitioner, Activity coordinators work closely with the 18 inpatients on the ward to run a programme of group and individual activities.
You will become a part of the internationally renowned South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust by joining a hard working and compassionate ward team who strive to offer the best care to people at difficult times in their life.

Job responsibilities
To use technical / creative skills and specialised support work to engage clients in therapeuticinterventions that promote and maintain independence, social inclusion and the clinical / professional supervision of an OT, deliver interventions such as: Tailored 1:1 support plans Groups and technical/ creative activities on the ward art, music, exercise, baking, moviegroups, relaxation, cooking, gardening etc. Escorting patients on leave to the local area as part of an OT intervention planTo work effectively as a member of the occupational therapy team and the wider assessment and adjustment of own clinical interventions based on the changing needs ofthe service users.Contribute to formal OT assessments, under guidance of an OT and provide feedback on patientsoccupational in the implementation, evaluation and modification of OT and team interventions.
Under the supervision of an OT, provide a range of interventions, instructing and guiding clients tosupport them in achieving identified goals.Undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.
