The Main Outpatient Department at Oldham Hospital holds clinics for many different specialities within several different locations and we are currently looking to recruit a Band 3 senior clinical support worker to join the existing team.

The department provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge across a variety of specialities as you are expected to work across all areas with support from registered nurses

  • Work within clinics as allocated by the nurse in charge.
  • Support trained staff by assisting in the delivery of care to the patient directly or indirectly.
  • Assist with some nursing duties unaided at the discretion of a trained nurse, following training and assessment of competence.
  • Support the registered staff through the utilisation knowledge and skills learnt at Level three to provide safe and effective care to patients and support to clinicians.
  • Undertake wound care to include suture removal and dressing changes upon completion of relevant educational pack and assessment of clinical practice to competency level.
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the department team & patients and visitors to the department
  • Carry out routine and specific procedures required for the daytoday running of the department that require no interpretation where diagnostic results are produced
  • Maintain good standards of cleanliness in the department.
