We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral molecular life scientist researcher to study the localisation of mRNAs to specific sites of active translation or translation factories. The position will involve the use of a wide-range of molecular and cell biological approaches including recombinant DNA technology and fluorescent microscopy techniques to assess the cis-acting mRNA elements involved in the mRNA localisation. The project will also use PAR-CLIP to investigate candidate trans-acting proteins that may be involved in the localisation of mRNAs to translation factories. As a result, the project will require combined wet-lab work and experience in computational data analysis. The project will use the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an experimental model relevant to all eukaryotic systems.
Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent) in a biological science and a strong background in molecular biology and computational analyses as detailed in the further particulars. Please apply online, include a full CV and ensure prior experience and suitability for the role are clearly evidenced.
