    An exciting Band 6 opportunity has arisen on Arrow ward for an experienced and proactive nurse who will care for patients with chronic and acute respiratory conditions.


    The respiratory ward provides level 2 respiratory care and you will need to be competent with the management of patients requiring CPAP,NIV and HFNO.

    All staff in the multidisciplinary team work very closely to provide a high standard of quality care for our Respiratory patients.


    The successful candidate will support the ward sister in developing the team, leading and managing them to provide high quality care for a group of patients with complex medical and social needs.

    They should be supportive of junior staff in developing their skills and knowledge whilst being committed to develop their own clinical and leadership skills.

    To be responsible for promoting and implementing practice conducive to the development of high quality patient care by providing professional, clinical and managerial leadership.

    To take charge of the Unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse and provide support and guidance to all staff.

    To support the Unit Senior Sister in the implementation of their role.
    To ensure adherence to the Trust's Health and Safety policies.

    To monitor, manage and report clinical workload to ensure the effective deployment of manpower, taking all possible actions to minimise risk when optimum staffing levels are not available.

    In the absence of the Unit Sister ensure the clinical environment is adequately staffed and take all possible action to minimise risks when optimum staffing levels are compromised.

    In the absence of the Sister report actions taken to minimize risks.

    Proven experience and achievements at Band 5 or equivalent
    Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a wide range of people
    Evidence of relevant post registration education and training
