Manufacturing Planner
£36-40,000 + 8% pension + bonus
Hinckley. Permanent. Monday-Friday Daytime pm.
Production Planner in a manufacturing business that has invested in new equipment and has a growing order book with customers worldwide.
- Build the manufacturing plan from the customer sales forecast, creating 3 months visibility ahead, with increasing detail into the 4 week production plan, including manufacturingline specific plans for the week ahead and a daily production schedule.
- Optimise the production plan to meet customer demand, considering capacity planning, labour and machine availability.
- Work closely with buyers in the purchasing team to drive conversations and ensure that suppliers are onplan to deliver OTIF.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to understand inventory availability and communicate a clear plan to the warehouse team to enable smooth delivery of inventory into manufacturing.
- Ask for data from colleagues to ensure that inventory in scheduled, delivered to warehouse and delivered to manufacturing lineside to enable the production plan to be achieved.
- Take responsibility for inventory and stock level accuracy, balancing bufferstock against over stocking and obsolescence.
- Take a lead in problem solving and introducing goodpractice with colleagues such as buyers, warehouse, manufacturing, demand forecasting and others that relate into manufacturing supply chain.
This newly created role has been created at a time of growth and investment, so you will have opportunity to get involved with the introduction of new systems during the introduction of a new company wide ERP system.
Experience Required
- Experience of production scheduling or manufacturing planning.
- The ability to have data driven conversations in a positive collaborative way with colleagues and sometimes with suppliers.
- Experience of working in manufacturing supply chain, ideally with experience of both ERP driven and manually driven systems.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems and ask for data to prove inventory delivery plans will be met.
- The ability to problem solve, contribute ideas and create new working processes.
