Please note this is a full time role, working 37.

5 hours per week and there are two shift patterns currently available, candidates must be flexible to work either:

Monday to Friday 09;Tuesday to Saturday 09:00 - 17:00

The purpose of this post is to complete, to the required quality standards, the analysis of samples for a given method using laboratory techniques and further, assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory.

Undertaking all tasks within the main laboratory appropriate to the level of training given to you by team leaders and management.

~ Registration, preparation, and analysis of samples as required.
~ Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
~ Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner.
~ Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
~ Assist with continuous improvement within the microbiology department.
