CMA is delighted to be working on a retained basis with a highly repeatable independent firm of Chartered Accountants based Southampton, to recruit a Director of Accountancy Services.

This role focuses on the delivery of accountancy services to a portfolioof clients as well as contributing to the continued development of the service line.


This independent, director-led practice, work alongside business owners at all stages of their business journey from start-up through to growth and consolidation, succession planning and exit strategies, as well as advising on personal finance and tax planningissues.


As a Director of Accountancy Services, you will be a senior member of the leadership team; you will lead the accountancy service line within the practice, overseeing staff development, business development, client and practice management, with the opportunityto progress to equity as well as contributing to the firms' future planning / strategy.


What will the Director Accountancy Services role involve?

  • Developing the operating strategy for your team inkeeping with the firms' strategic direction;
  • Direct management of a team including workflow planning, ensuring profitability is maximised whilst maintaining the high levels of client service provided;
  • Building strong relationships with clients to become a trusted advisor to their businesses through consistent delivery of outstanding service levels;
  • Business development through cross selling to existing clients across other service lines of the business as well as new client development through networking / business contacts;
  • Induct, train and retain team members. Maximise the careers of trainees / established members of staff by training, coaching and developing your team.
  • ACA or ACCA qualified;
  • Recent practice experience at Manager / Senior Manager level or above,
  • Experience managing a sizeable portfolio of clients.
