The SBRI Centre of Excellence is looking for a Centre Support Officer to play a key role in supporting the Business Development and Project Management Teams.

This interesting and varied role is critical to supporting the successful development, delivery and evaluation of projects in alignment with Welsh Government strategies.


So, what does the SBRI Centre of Excellence do:

We are funded by Welsh Government and hosted by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board to help drive innovative solutions for challenges across healthcare and the wider public sector.

We work with colleagues to identify their unmet needs, where no readily available solution exists, and frame that challenge into a competition that invites businesses, third sector and academia to propose their idea for a solution.

The successful applicants receive funding and the Centre project manages the development and captures the benefits of their innovative solutions.

This is a fixed term contract/secondment which will run until 31/03/2025. There is a possibility of contract extension dependant on successful funding. Secondments will require support of your current Line Manager.


So, what is it all about, the role: The Centre Support Officer will support the promotion, development and implementation of projects that identify and resolve unmet needs/challenges within health and the wider public sector, working with clinical, administrative and technical staff from Welsh Health Boards, NHS, Welsh Government, Local Authorities, businesses, third sector and academia.

As the Band 4 Centre Support Officer, you will be responsible for:
Providing high level administrative support to assist with the planning and delivery of SBRI Centre of Excellence Projects

To be a point of contact for the Centre, arranging Project and Programme Board Meetings

To support with organising and co-ordinating Centre run events and workshops. Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders and ensuring all facilities are catered for i.e. invitations, merchandise, refreshments, room/venue bookings and facilities

To prepare for and attend events across the Wales and the UK to promote the SBRI Centre of Excellence

To complete essential administration tasks ensuring all Centre documentation and templates are up to date

Work with more Senior Centre staff to ensure that all Centre and Project documentation is completed and updated regularly

Regularly updating the SBRI Centre website, monitoring and setting up accounts for other areas of social media such as Twitter

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
