    B5-B6 posts (developmental option) – 2 posts

These posts will provide the successful candidates with opportunities to develop their skills and experience across several areas of our adult service. We welcome applications from existing Band 5 or Band 6 Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) looking to consolidate their skills, and we also encourage applications from newly qualified SLTs, who would be appointed on a developmental basis (competency based). We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individuals to join our team. These are full time posts with the requirement to hold a full driving licence. Dysphagia training is desirable, however, if not already undertaken, this training would be provided.

Post 1 Band 5-6 (developmental option); 37hours - Aberdeen HSCP Adult SLT Team

This post will initially sit within the Community Adult team which provides an extremely diverse service covering a wide range of clients ranging in age from 16 to 100+ and with a variety of presenting conditions. Clients are seen in a range of settings including clinics, domiciliary and Care Homes. We have a dysfluency service, Dementia Champions, and run regular groups for people with Parkinson's Disease and for people with Dementia and their families.

Post 2 Band 5-6 (developmental option); 37hours – Aberdeen HSCP Stroke Rehabilitation

This post will initially sit within the Specialist Rehabilitation Unit for Stroke. The successful candidate will join a small team of experienced SLTs and a well-established multi-disciplinary team. You will work primarily in an inpatient setting supporting stroke patients through their post-acute rehabilitation. There may also be opportunities to support patients across the wider Stroke pathway as required.

In time we envisage both of these posts providing the successful candidates with opportunities to experience working within other parts of our service. This may include our Neurological rehabilitation and Frailty pathways, the Stroke Supported Discharge Team and our Grampian-wide Videofluoroscopy Service.

The Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership SLT team have a wide range of skills and experience and are friendly and supportive. An established supervision structure is in place for all team members.

Informal enquiries, meetings and visits are encouraged. Please contact the appropriate person below to arrange this.
