    Cloud Engineer - Central London (Hybrid) - Azure / Kubernetes / Terraform / PowerShell - £75, ,000 + Discretionary bonus + benefits

    Harrington Starr are working in collaboration with a global financial services firm who are seeking a Cloud Engineer who has a passion for Technology to join their company in a new function.

    This Cloud Engineer will be instrumental to the organisation by bringing expertise in cloud infrastructure design, security, implementation, and delivery to empower the firms software engineering teams.

    The responsibilities for this role are:

    • Leverage infrastructure as code tools to automate and standardize cloud service deployment.
    • Conduct research, evaluation, testing, and deployment of cloud services aligned with project requirements.
    • Enhance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud services through optimization and fine-tuning.
    • Implement robust security measures to safeguard cloud-based assets and data integrity.
    • Contribute to the advancement of cloud technology knowledge within the firms technical teams.
    • Adhere to best practices, emphasizing quality, collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation covering architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.

    Crucial Knowledge needed:

    • Full public and private cloud (Azure) infrastructure environments including, networking and routing design and implementation.
    • Security principles. implementation and practices across public and private cloud environments.
    • Kubernetes, container workload design, management, and optimisation.
    • Working with software engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and performant solutions.
    • GitHub Actions.
    • Terraform.
    • Telemetry tooling (Datadog).
    • Scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell.

    Advantageous Knowledge:

    • Adherence to industry standard cloud security and compliance
    • Financial services industry experience
    • Relevant certifications such Azure Solutions Architect
    • Configuration management systems (Ansible, packer)
