_Senior AML Specialist_

Acting as an SME across all Financial Crime disciplines and developing and maintaining a robust control framework within the Financial Crime operational team.

You will be supporting the AML Managers in developing and driving team performance improvement to support delivery of the YBS's strategic priorities.

There will be a focus on protecting customers and YBS as well as fulfilling regulatory/statutory obligations.

You will be accountable for supporting translating & implementing Divisional plans and deliverables to deliver overall Group strategic priorities as well as developing the capability and capacity of team and/or service resources to drive sustained commercial success.

You will investigate and analyse customer activity identifying suspicious activity and high risk persons. Provide advice, support and training to colleagues to protect our member and Society. Take ownership of complex cases and liaison with external authorities. You'll proactively contribute to the change agenda and mitigate risk for the Society. You'll act as a technical expert of all elements of Financial Crime.

You will have full accountability for developing and maintaining key external and internal relationships which create value, collaborating to deliver commercial and customer priorities.

What we're looking for

Experience of supporting the development and implementation of AML operational activity to effectively protect both Customers and the business across the full remit of Financial Crime
Robust understanding of financial crime regulations and legislation specifically AML but also covering fraud
Robust understanding of the regulatory systems and reporting requirements for financial institutions in respect of financial crime
Experience of supporting the leadership and development of an AML operational team financial crime governance function or team to deliver sustainable high performance
Evidence of professional learning and development to build and maintain skills and expertise
