Worcestershire VCSE Alliance is welcoming applications for an Independent Chair to drive forward our ambitions and vital vision.

The Alliance is looking for an exceptional leader to become its Independent Chair who:

• Is passionate about driving positive change within the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector.
  
• Is an aspiring and generous systems leader who has an inclusive and collaborative approach.
  
• Is highly strategic and able to create an environment where all voices are heard and individuals can contribute effectively, ensuring a diversity of views and perspectives are considered.
  
• A dynamic individual who possesses strong persuasion, influencing, and negotiation skills, deep understanding of the importance of improving health and/or wellbeing outcomes within the community and will be driven by their knowledge that VCSE sector is uniquely placed to addresses inequalities at a community level.
  
• Is not closely affiliated with a Worcestershire based not-for-profit organisation* (i.e. a Charity Trustee or Social Enterprise Director).

  *If you are an existing trustee/director and would like to submit an expression of interest, please do so on the basis that you would be willing to step down from this position if appointed.
  
  Overview of the role
  
  As the Independent Chair, you will play a pivotal role in working closely with the VCSE Strategic Lead and key stakeholders to lead the Alliance through an exciting phase of transition from phase 1 to phase 2 of its work.
  
  

  A key part of the role is to work with the VCSE Strategic Lead to ensure the Alliance Board and Forum work effectively with VCSE organisations embedding work within the Worcestershire Integrated Care System (ICS).

  • Honorarium | £500 per month for an initial period of 12 months
    
  • Hours | 2 days a month
    
  • Location | Hybrid, with face-to-face meetings taking place across Worcestershire
    
  • Responsible to | Members of Worcestershire VCSE Alliance Board
    
  • Closing Date | 12th April 2024. Interviews will take place w/c 22nd April.
