The Opportunity


You will be following the government approved
Level 4 PR and Communications Assistant Apprenticeship. You will be working within the NRS central communications team who plan, manage and execute all internal communications activities as well as building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders, regulators and Government.

You will be joining an industry which is always in the public spotlight, but never more so than now, making it an extremely busy time for our communications professionals.

You will be assisting with developing communications for over 3000 staff at 12 locations across the UK.

You might be creating content for social media, talking to members of the public about NRS work, writing copy for our intranet pages, drafting press releases or briefing industry journalists.


What will it look like?


This apprenticeship will be approximately 2 years and will be blended online and distance learning via the Cambridge Marketing College.

PR & Communications Assistant Apprenticeship | Cambridge Marketing College You will be based at your allocated NRS site, supported throughout by the course provider and the NRS communications team to ensure you have sufficient evidence and knowledge to complete your apprenticeship.


What we need:


  • Five GCSEs in the 9 to 3 (A* to D) range, must include English.
  • Is aged 17 or over on the
  • An interest in the Nuclear/engineering sector
  • Can manage their time well and balance work and study effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Creative thinker.
  • Must work well in a team.

Other requirements
ALL NRS employees must be security cleared prior to employment.

You will need to live within commuting distance to the site where the role is based.

Although you will be predominantly based at your allocated site, you can expect on the job training that could take you to any of our 12 sites across the UK providing you with the practical experience you need to complete your apprenticeship.
