Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Site Chemist role for a Waste Management company in Rainham, Essex

The site chemist will carry out all duties related to handling of waste materials and ensure the safe handling and disposal of these materials in a compliant manner.

Responsibilities in the role

Ensure the technical approval/acceptance of all waste material as well as completing all associated

- documentation accurately and on time

Review all 3rd party waste documentation
Review of all waste databases goods in / goods out.
Ensure the correct storage of packaged material
Ensure that the treatment system is used correctly and checked daily, as well as cleaned at the

- stipulated intervals.

Manage laboratory stock levels
Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, liaise with suppliers and engineers.
Review of laboratory procedures at regular intervals
Laboratory testing
Make up necessary standards for the ICP-MS, GC-MS etc.
Test pre acceptance samples and liaise with clients
Recording and labelling inbound and outbound waste materials
Carry out daily and monthly site inspections.

Salary:
Circa £25k - 28k, dependant on experience

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday with a one-hour meal break. (Some overtime available)
