Role Summary:

The Senior Coordinator will be key in developing, implementing, and sustaining impactful entrepreneurship, Ashesi mission-aligned programs and managing fellowship initiatives specifically designed to support undergraduate and graduate students in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Exhibit strong understanding of the demands of academic work and the ability to provide tailored guidance and support to aspiring student entrepreneurs, coupled with entrepreneurship program management skills.


Roles & Responsibilities:


Management of Fellowship Programs:


  • Manage the lifecycle of fellowship programs from recruitment and selection to ongoing mentorship and support for student entrepreneurs participating in the program.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the effectiveness and impact of fellowship programs, actively soliciting feedback from participants and stakeholders, and implementing necessary improvements to enhance program outcomes.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with external partners, venture capitalists, and angel investors, fostering valuable networking opportunities and potential funding avenues for student startups within the incubator.
  • Drive the promotion of undergraduate entrepreneurship programs and fellowships offered by the incubator, leveraging marketing efforts, campus outreach initiatives, and digital channels to attract a diverse and talented pool of student entrepreneurs.
  • Manage program budgets, meticulously track expenses, and provide periodic reports to the Assistant Director of the Ashesi Entrepreneurship Center and Admin & Operations Lead to reconcile expenses, ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Collaborate with university departments, alumni networks, and industry partners to secure funding, resources, and strategic partnerships to support entrepreneurship programs and fellowships.
  • Coordinate and facilitate a wide range of events, including pitch competitions, demo days, and industry displays, providing student entrepreneurs with a prominent platform to highlight their ventures and gain valuable exposure within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Coordinate the development of fellowship training content:

  • Support with the design and execution of undergraduate entrepreneurship programs within the incubator including workshops, boot camps, mentorship initiatives, and networking events, to provide a holistic learning experience for aspiring student entrepreneurs.
  • Continuously assess and refine the curriculum and program offerings, ensuring they remain aligned with the evolving needs of student entrepreneurs and the dynamic landscape of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Engagement & Collaboration with Academic Departments:

  • Liaise with Engineering, Computer Science and Business departments to facilitate the transformation of student projects and interventions into viable business ideas.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering workshop to raise awareness and provide guidance on the commercialization process for their products, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation within the discipline.
  • Engage entrepreneurshiprelated student clubs to foster enthusiasm, cultivate interest, and drive active engagement in undergraduate fellowship programs.

  • Identify and assess the needs, interests, and goals of undergraduate fellows to make suitable mentorship pairings.
  • Match mentors and mentees based on compatible backgrounds, expertise, and aspirations.
  • Facilitate introductions and initial meetings between mentors and mentees, ensuring both parties are aligned on their roles and expectations.
  • Track and maintain records of mentorship activities, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations to assess the effectiveness and impact of the mentorship program.
  • Schedule regular checkins with mentors and mentees to monitor progress, address challenges and provide guidance on goal setting and development.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the mentorship program's outcomes, ensuring alignment with the AEC's goals and objectives.
