Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

(6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm rotating shifts)


A rapidly expanding, market-leading, local manufacturing company is looking to strengthen their manufacturing management structure with the appointment of an enthusiastic, dynamic individual to provide great leadership skills to a team of Production Operatives.

An award-winning Stoke on Trent based manufacturer is expanding. Over recent years this company has firmly established themselves as one of the UK's leaders within their industry through their reputation for excellent quality products, but even though they have grown significantly in recent times, the organisation has still retained their original principles that make this company a great place to work

Continuously improving, stringent safety standards and great team work are key ingredients of this company's culture and Team Leaders lead these practices by;

  • Ensuring the daily activities of all staff are undertaken safely, in line with the risk assessment programme carried out across the business and promote a safe and clean working environment.
  • Ensuring all KPIs are monitored and updated using the hour by hour charts on a daily basis, any failures reported in a timely manner and also reasons for failure and any corrective actions identified.
  • Communicating with other Team Leaders to resolve any issues that may affect delivery to customers in a timely manner.
  • Coaching, coordinating and delegating duties to those staff working in the section being covered by you. To actively train all staff members within the section to develop their skills to allow complete flexibility across the section (multiskilled) documenting on the departmental training skills matrix.
  • Performing quality checks on all machines and products to the recognised frequency and standards, record results and remedy minor faults to the limits of instruction and training given. Ensure staff are trained to the correct standard in order to achieve the TPM programme across the departments.
  • Ensuring materials are supplied to the production line in your area in a timely manner by working closely with the Material Supply team and adopting replenishment techniques such as line side delivery, Kanban systems etc
  • Managing and monitoring departmental safety and housekeeping standards in line with the "5S" programme. Ensure all visual management notices and tools are maintained to the highest standard.
