    Description

    Are you an experienced Stage Manager? Do you have experience of large-scale productions? Do you take a flexible approach to your work? Would you like to work for a world-renowned theatre company?

    The RSC is looking to appoint a professional, experienced Stage Manager for the forthcoming production of .

    As Stage Manager you will report directly to the Head of Company & Stage Management and Company Manager where you will manage all aspects of the production from rehearsals to performance, communicating the ambitions of the Director and creative teams to the RSC technical departments to ensure the realisation of the show and its upkeep throughout the run. You will support the Company Manager with the day-to-day management and welfare of the acting company and stage management team.

    Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Company Manager in ensuring the smooth and effective running of daily rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances.
  • Liaising with and collaborating with the Director, Producer, Company Manager, Production Manager, creative teams, and technical staff to facilitate the ambitions and needs of the production in rehearsals and performances.
  • Producing efficient and effective daily call sheets and overseeing daily rehearsal room schedule/show calls.
  • Overseeing the compilation and distribution of all show related paperwork.
  • Ensuring the production is rehearsed and runs in accordance with RSC policies and procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding and data protection.
  • Working within the RSC/Equity Agreement.
  • Scheduling and managing the understudy process.
  • To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:

  • Must have professional Stage Manager experience of working on large scale busy productions
  • Experience of working with understudies
  • Excellent Team Leadership and communications skills
  • Time Management and Scheduling
  • Understanding of H&S policies and production of Risk Assessments
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • This is a full time, fixed term position, working during the week and weekends. Based on a 40-hour week plus overtime. Prep week in Stratford Upon Avon w/c 2nd October. Rehearsals commence in London w/c 9th October. Rehearsals in Stratford Upon Avon w/c 20th November. Final performance, Sunday 14th January 2024.
