    JOB DESCRIPTION

We take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It's something we've been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world's first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It's the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

What is the right size and shape for our future? How should we adapt our business model to changes in the competitive landscape? What opportunities do we have to transform the profitability of key business units? Working collaboratively across the business, it is the role of the Strategy team to tackle these types of fundamental questions. The answers are key to defining the strategic direction of the company, outlined in our multi-year business plan.

    The role:

As Senior Strategy Manager, you'll be expected to contribute to and lead a variety of strategic projects, from initial analysis through to final recommendation or business case. While some projects may involve deep evaluation over a number of months, other requirements may necessitate a rapid response, for example reacting to a specific competitor development. In many cases, the team will be partnering with departments across the business, and there will be opportunities to work directly with our Management Committee, as well as senior IAG collaborators.

The role reports to the Director of Strategy.

Key qualities we are looking for:

    • Highly analytical and numerical. Previous work experience, ideally aviation-related, in Industry (Strategy, Finance, Commercial), Management Consulting or Banking
    • Capable of preparing and delivering well-structured, clear, impactful presentations, to audiences up to executive level
    • Ability to work cross functionally, in an open and collegiate manner, with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
    • An inquisitive, tenacious approach to problem solving, showing initiative and determination, with an ability to quickly get to grips with new subject matter
    • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the aviation industry, with a good understanding of the markets in which we operate, its customers and competitors
    • Prior experience of financial modelling / financial analysis is desirable (although an accountancy qualification is not essential)

    What we offer:

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It's one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary.

From the day you join us, you'll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on our flights. You'll also receive up to 30 discounted 'Hotline' airfares per year for yourself, friends, and family.

You'll have the chance to take on new challenges and move forward in a way that feels right for you. We encourage all those who work for us to consider opportunities right across our business to help you develop and progress.

We never stand still, and we don't expect our people to either.
