    Job Description

    Primary Role Purpose:

    The role involves leading or guiding the project/programme Engineering team, emphasizing a systems approach to engineering activities, fostering efficient work practices, and facilitating individual and team development.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • Collaborating within and across teams in a matrixed and multi-stakeholder environment.
    • Defining and managing solution engineering activities at various project levels, including identifying the necessary skills for successful delivery and ensuring governance compliance.
    • Occasionally responsible for specifying and executing systems engineering management and control processes.
    • Producing and maintaining management plans such as Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Through Life Management Plans (TLMP), etc.
    • Developing and maintaining customer/stakeholder relations, both internal and external, actively seeking information to understand their circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.
    • Defining the system development cycle and establishing the process, practices, and tools applicable to the product based on project-specific constraints.
    • Ensuring global consistency of the engineering process, practices, and tools, organizing co-engineering, and potentially approving lower-level solution elements or components.

    Leadership Skills:

    • Engaging and influencing a diverse set of stakeholders.
    • Working in a multi-stakeholder environment to establish clear and achievable goals.
    • Fostering an open environment for sharing information and ideas, stimulating innovative thinking.
    • Effectively building stakeholder relationships and collaborating with customer, supplier, and internal teams.

    Qualifications

    • Understanding of systems engineering life cycle, practices, and tools.
    • Experience in multi-stakeholder change management activities.
    • Experience in delivering engineering content for system-level programs in land, sea, and/or air domains.
    • Ability to make informed judgments on benefits versus risks.
    • Understanding of requirements management tools, specifically DOORS.
    • Experience in executing systems engineering lifecycle processes, including requirements elicitation, system specification, interface specification, test specification, and the conduct of trade studies.
