    Solution Architect

    Location: London Millbank

    Job type: Full time

    Hybrid working: 3 days a week in the office 2 days working from home

With permanent fully staffed offices in 17 countries, our 850 specialist consultants and researchers advise government departments, regulators, charities, and other public sector bodies to make the right decisions and improve people's lives.

    Our team is looking for a new Solution Architect to design and deliver technology solutions across the business. The role reports to the CTO.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement enterprise-wide capabilities and designs (end to end) for our integration, visualisation, data and analytics infrastructure in line with our wider technology and business strategy.
    • Responsible for designing and implementing solutions that deliver against the technology strategy and transformation programs.
    • Develop and embed best practices, standards, and governance to ensure an efficient, effective, secure and compliant operation and service delivery of our infrastructure and platforms.
    • Provide technical leadership and support to teams responsible for the delivering client projects.
    • Provide technical support and develop content for tenders
    • Lead or support the development of solution architectures and their implementation including implementation strategies, migration plans and roadmaps
    • Definition and ongoing curation of architecture documentation for security platforms and applications: producing architecture blueprints, HLDs, LLDs as required.
    • Contribute to the procurement (RFI/RFP) of technology as needed.
    • Maintain close awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application for the technology team and wider business.

    Key Skills and Experience

    • Strong background in solution architecture using the Azure and Microsoft technology stack.
    • Ability to create a roadmap towards a vision, keeping the end goal in mind, but continuously delivering tangible value.
    • Agile delivery methodology including solution design, planning, estimation and budgeting
    • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks, assumptions, issues and decisions throughout the full project lifecycle
    • Demonstrable experience of working in an architecture team including the production of design documentation (HLDs, LLDs, blueprints, interface designs, data modelling etc.)
    • Ability to conduct research into technical platforms and evaluate capabilities
    • A self-starter with the ability to lead and drive change
    • Action orientated; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Ability to build strong relationships and influence decisions with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong ownership mindset; self-motivated and passionate; able to deliver without being asked.
    • Technologist at heart; curious and innovative; wants to make a difference; collaborative and team oriented
    • Strong "can-do" attitude and drive to learn new technologies independently
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Highly experienced in designing and implementing solutions using the Azure technology stack with the ability to be hands-on when needed.
    • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise
    • Language skills: Fluent in English

    Technology skills and experience

    • Experience with Azure DevOps CICD, PowerShell and Terraform
    • Experience with: Azure Synapse, Databricks, API Manager, Application Gateway, Function Apps, Logic Apps, Azure Networking, Power BI, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Datalake Gen2, Deltalake, Data Factory, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics and more.
    • Experience with Python, C#, and/or Java
    • Experience with methodologies such as TOGAF and SAFe.
