    Description
    There is an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Band 6 Neuro Rotation.

    We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and hardworking to join our dynamic and friendly teams and would welcome interest from full and part time applicants.

    The yearly rotations are based across Royal Derby Hospital and Florence Nightingale Community Hospital. The rotations include Kings Lodge Neuro Rehab Unit, Stroke Unit, Neuro Outpatient Service, Neuro In-Reach Team and Acute Neurology.


    You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of Occupational Therapy within these teams, as well as having opportunities to support operational management and leadership of the services you are working within.

    There are internal and external training opportunities to support your ongoing learning and professional development, which includes a Band 6 Neuro rotation peer support and education group.


    You will need to have experience as an occupational therapist within neurological rehabilitation and be able to demonstrate good communication skills.

    An average of 1115 patients are seen in A& Es across our network every day - 3rd largest in the country.

    Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres.

    Education, Training & Qualifications
    Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent diploma
    Evidence of CPD specifically related to neurology

    Current driving licence
    Clinical experience through a wide variety of rotations to include neurology and rehabilitation
    Planning and organisational skills to enable effective management of own patient workload.
    Able to move and handle patients safely for self and others as part of the rehabilitation process
    Ability to use a risk assessment approach to maximise patients' function and safety

    Ability to fabricate and clinically reason a range of splints and casts
    Able to work in a flexible manner adapting to changing situations constructively
