    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has risen from addittional funding to expand our dietetic service provision to the Neonatal team at Nottingham Children's hospital .

    Are you a dietitian keen to expand your clinical experience in paediatric neonatology ? Do you have a passion for improving patient outcomes with the best nutritional care? We are looking for a forward thinking and enthusiastic dietitian to join our established teams of approximately 32 paediatric dietitians,assistants and technicians based at Nottingham Children's hospital at NUH. You will become an integral member of our supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high quality, patient centred dietetic care.

    Dietetic experience is essential however there is an opportunity to learn neonatal dietetics within a supportive team with two highly specialist dietitians

    Main duties of the job

    You will be working across both neonatal centres at QMC and City hospital . You will also work in outpatient services supporting the consultant let clinics and the home care team .

    About us

    The Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) is based at the Queens Medical Centre campus and is part of NUH. We provide in-patient and out-patient care for children up to the age of 19 years old.

    With 97 beds, we care for around 40,000 children each year from Nottinghamshire and beyond, treating a full range of conditions, including planned and emergency treatment and surgery, burns and plastics, neurological conditions, oncology, paediatric critical care, renal conditions and transplantation, gastroenterology, and spinal and orthopaedic care.

    The Children's Dietetic team at NCH is a friendly and supportive department who work closely alongside the wider MDT, providing excellent evidence based care and innovative ways of working.

    Throughout NUH we have a diverse range of AHP and support staff who work together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to supported by our Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction.

    Job responsibilities

    You must have experience of working as a Dietitian. You will need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within a supportive team. You will work alongside dietitians as well as dietetic technicians and dietetic assistants. We expect you to beenthusiastic, motivated and keen to develop your own skills and those of others. Experience of nutritional support is essential. Additional training will be provided.

    As part of this role it is essential that you will be able to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) accordingly to national and local guidance.

  • Qualified Dietitian (4 year degree, post-graduate diploma or equivalent).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Registered with the Health Professions Council.
