Overview of the role:

We are seeking a talented Senior Physical Validation Engineer or Physical Validation Engineer, who is looking for an opportunity to further their career within the structures department at JCB

This role is based at JCB WHQ in Rocester, Staffordshire.

Your Responsibilities as a Senior Physical Validation Engineer:

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting physical structural validation of all JCB machines, through a combination of full vehicle testing at JCBs proving ground and whole life component validation rigs in the structures test house. Other duties will include:

· Update, maintain and use the structures life matrices to conduct standardised testing.

· Determine appropriate data loggers and sensors for each job and configure them accordingly.

· Analyse the test data and generate reports with detailed findings and recommendations for improvement.

· Contribute to the design and development of rigs using NX and hand calculations, focusing on bolted joints.

· Simulate rigs in multibody dynamics to estimate actuator sizes and optimize the test parameters to simulate field testing.

· Commission, monitor, maintain and decommission hydraulically powered whole life test rigs.

· Create, calibrate, and use customs sensors, such as loadcells.

· Can lead and resolve complex problems under pressured conditions during physical testing at the JCB proving ground to ensure continuity of physical testing.

· An effective communicator - can explain technical and commercial information clearly and briefly to leaders.

· A demonstrated ability to influence rational decision making and problem solving.

· Can plan, organize, and adapt in a fast-paced changing environment adjusting decision making accordingly.

· Commercially astute considering the broader consequences of your decisions to deliver complex technical projects on time and within budget.

· A demonstrated ability to learn and propose new data acquisition systems and processes.

· A demonstrated ability to apply engineering knowledge and skill reliably and effectively in and outside of your core competence.

· Actively work cross-functionally with a team success mentality.

· Establish relationships and foster professional trust with the wider company, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

· Member of, or keen to pursue membership to a Professional Institution. Actively working towards or ideally having achieved IEng. or CEng

· CPCS Machine tickets preferable but not essential.

· Experience in physical validation engineering or similar role.

· Educated to a minimum HND level in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
