Post-pandemic, there is an opportunity for an imaginative new CEO to forge a new path, protecting and harnessing the best of the past while blending it with fresh ideas.


It's an opportunity that should excite any existing luxury/fashion retail-based CEO, MD or CD with a record of success, who appreciates history and heritage and knows how to implement the judicious changes needed to keep an iconic brand relevant for a modernworld.


About the CEO role:


You are accustomed to multi-million-pound turnovers and you bring fresh thinking and exciting new ideas, but you also understand the value of a loyal and passionate workforce, and you approach change with empathy and tact.


You are a strong decision maker, yet you are able to convince others not through force, but through conviction and gentle, compassionate consideration.


You are an inspiring leader with gravitas and authority, a figurehead everyone can look up to and be inspired by, yet you are as relatable on the shop floor as you are at the boardroom table or during the press interview.


And your leadership of the business is built on a bedrock of expertise in the luxury market and its supply chain.

You understand this world, and you use that understanding to ensure long-term success whilst safeguarding the brand's industry-renowned culture,integrity and ethos.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Working closely with the Board of Directors and SMT to determine objectives, strategy and budgets for Board approval
  • Reviewing and improving efficiencies and technological developments across the business
  • Ensuring the financial stability and corporate/legal compliance of the company
  • Acting as the visible figurehead for staff and external stakeholders
  • Leading, motivating, coaching and appraising SMT and develop a high performing managerial team and developing a culture of ongoing learning and development for employees
  • Managing the business estate (including renewal of leases) and protecting intellectual property
  • Ensuring sustainability, equity, inclusion and diversity have a place at the heart of all strategies
  • Communicating the company's vision, mission and direction to foster the engagement of all staff
  • Building effective working relationships with key partners and stakeholders, and providing direction on supplier relationships, contract terms and stock management
  • Participating in industryrelated events or associations that will enhance the company's reputation and success

Role requirements:

In addition to the characteristics noted above you will be/have:

  • A clear vision, extraordinary passion, a sensitivity to ethos and values, and a strong connection with the brand identity
  • Evidence of identifying and delivering profitable strategies and bringing fresh ideas to deliver growth
  • Indepth knowledge and experience of finance, governance and general management best practices, with a deep knowledge of industry trends and developments
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding analytical and organisational skills and the ability to take difficult decisions
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships including at board level and across functional departments
  • Excellent communication skills adapted for internal and external audiences


Occasional (i.e times a year) European and international travel will be expected and experience of working internationally and the ability to speak a European or East Asian language is desirable, as is a relevant degree or professional qualification.
